Sorry, It’s been almost over a week since I’ve posted. Why? Well I just moved to NYC last Friday, and I’m still trying to get settled into my new job as a Junior Account Manager at ClassPass. It’s been a madhouse moving from the Midwest to the East Coast, but I’m definitely loving it.
I decided to check out Coney Island for the first time with some friends the Sunday I arrived (aka where the pictures). I was a little underwhelmed. Tons of tourists, dirty, and kind’ve expensive. At least I can say that I’ve been there. Though the beach was pretty awesome!
The job. Oh my god. The day before I didn’t get much sleep due to having a little fun at Soho House & nerves getting the best of it. I kept thinking to myself, I can’t believe I’m here. Is this really happening?
Since the office environment is casual, I really wasn’t sure what to wear for the first day. I was deciding on wearing a comfy sweatshirt (probably from A.P.C.), a pair of comfy jeans (maybe from Rag & Bone), and some Birkenstocks sandals (my fav).
The first day I headed to the Flatiron district where the office was located. When I entered into the office, I felt like I entered a lululemon store. Gorgeous girls with macs were running around in the chicest workout apparel from lululemon. I instantly thought to myself, WELCOME HOME.
The first day was a bit of a blur. Things were thrown at me left and right. Excel documents this, excel documents that. There was never a dull moment in the office. I even had to perform a song based on a description I was given to 40 people. Talk about a crazy day in the office.
Now for one my favorites, the team. When I first met all of the Account Managers and Junior Account Managers, I noticed that I was the only guy. Not a problem. The girls were so adorable, sweet, and helpful. They knew that I was going to be overwhelmed the first day, but pretty much took it step by step to help me understand the daily tasks, ect.
At the end of the day, I didn’t want to leave. I felt like I was at home and had an amazing first day. Everyone was extremely welcoming. Yay, I’m so happy to be apart of the ClassPass team.
